In memoriam: Dr. Elizabeth Stokes

Dr. Elizabeth Stokes, professor emeritus of psychology, died Saturday, Dec. 11. She was the wife of Dr. Bill Stokes, professor emeritus of mathematics.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 15, at the Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church in Austin. A graveside service will be held tomorrow at Richland Cemetery in Richland, Texas.

Stokes received the Distinguished Teacher Award from APSU in 1976 and the Community Distinguished Service Award from the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce in 1986.

She is survived by her husband, a son, William Glenn Stokes III, a daughter, Lynne Moulton, and three grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial contributions be directed to the Hendon-Stokes Scholarship Fund at APSU or to the American Cancer Society.
