APSU sexuality class to be featured on books video: Class candid look at sexuality caught eye of book publisher made the front page of The Leaf-Chronicles Local section June 26. The story quoted Glenn Carter, professor of social work and director of the Social Work Program and APSU social work major Yuricka Rice. Carter and APSU student Monyette Findley were pictured.

“Listening, Not Always for a Human Voice: Local poet's debut collection is all about gratitude,” a review of APSU alum Jeff Hardin's book, “Fall Sanctuary,” was featured in the June 30-July 6 issue of the Nashville Scene. Austin Peay was mentioned in the story as Hardin's alma mater.

“Demolition makes room for new student housing: University Landing brings 385 bedrooms” made the front page of The Leaf-Chronicle's “Local” section July 1. The story featured comments from Mitch Robinson, vice president for finance and administration.

“Jesus laid down law, but not on homosexuality,” a letter by Dr. Richard Gildrie, professor of history, was published in The Leaf-Chronicle's “Letters” section July 4.

“Hodgepodge owner wins Rising Star Award” made The Leaf-Chronicle's “Business” section July 8. The award was presented by the APSU-Tennessee Small Business Development Center.

“My Fairest Lady: Teen says she was surprised when she won pageant,” a story that made The Leaf-Chronicle's front page July 11, mentioned APSU as the location of the Clarksville Jaycees Fairest of the Fair 2005.
