Math conference at APSU this weekend

Austin Peay State University will host the Tennessee Math Teachers Associations (TMTA) fall conference.

The dates of the conference are Friday and Saturday, Sept. 19-20. There will be a banquet and special presentation by keynote speaker, Dr. Art Benjamin.

Benjamin, also known as the Mathemagician, has published several books including the newly released Secrets of Mental Math and was listed as one of Americas 100 Best by Readers Digest Magazine in 2005.

There will be more than 100 sessions for educators to choose, as well as vendors from the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Texas Instruments and numerous textbook publishers in attendance.

Participation in this event may earn educators credit toward state-required professional development.

A registration fee is required for participation. Fee rates vary based on when a participant registers. This fee includes a one-year membership in the TMTA. Online registration is available.
