Massinon to perform in recital

The Austin Peay State University Department of Music and the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts will sponsor a faculty recital.

Professor of Music Francis Massinon, who plays the French horn, will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 28 in the Music/Mass Communication Building Concert Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

Massinon will be accompanied on piano by Anne Glass, also a professor of music at Austin Peay. Another faculty member, Alicia Whitney, will be assisting Massinon, as well as music students Angela Collier and Kim Forguson.

Selections composed by Quantz, Cesare, Albrechtsberger and Vercoe will be performed at the recital.

Massinon has been a frequent recitalist and adjudicator at several universities. He has playing experiences with many orchestras in the Midwest and recently has served as principal hornist with the Paducah Symphony Orchestra and the Jackson Symphony Orchestra. He has appeared as a featured soloist with the Austin Peay Brass Ensembles and Woodwind Ensembles.
