Lady Govs soccer hosts Lambuth Tuesday

The Lady Govs soccer team will be one step closer to conference play when it faces Lambuth in a rescheduled 4:30 p.m. match today at Heritage Park. The match originally was scheduled at 7 p.m., Monday night.

Austin Peay is looking to win at home for the third time this season after posting overtime victory against Lipscomb Friday night. After staggering offensively out of the gate, things are starting to come together with three Lady Govs [Jessica Hosse, Kaylee Yago and Amanda McLean] posting two goals apiece through seven games.

“We are still trying to clean things up defensively,” says Head Coach Kelley Poole Guth. “We're working on getting organized with attacking in order to score goals. Lambuth will be a good challenge and great way to prepare for hosting OVC play this weekend.”

The Lady Eagles are coming off a rest weekend following a rainout at the King College Classic due to Hurricane Ivan. The match will be their first in a week.
