Lady Govs golf tied for eighth after first round of Lady Gamecock Classic

Austin Peays womens golf team sits in an eight-place tie after the first-round of the Lady Gamecock Classic, being played at the Silver Lakes Golf Course, the home course of Jacksonville State.

The Lady Govs shot an opening-round 343 to tie Troy State, 30 strokes behind leader East Tennessee. Host and fellow Ohio Valley Conference member Jacksonville State is in second place at 318. The Lady Govs are just one stroke behind OVC rival Tennessee Tech and are nine strokes ahead of Samford (352), also an OVC member.

Juniors Christine Idoux (45-38=83) and Erin Wise (43-41=84) led APSU while sophomore Amanda Rose shot an (39-46=85). Junior Pier-Ann LaChance came in at (48-43=91) while freshman Christine Lignarolo shot a (55-55=110).

The final round of the two-day, 13-team event is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 5.
