Lady Govs golf ends in 11th place at Louisville

The womens golf team shot its tourneys best round but still finished in 11th place at the Napa River Grill Cardinal Cup.

APSU shot a final-day 352 to end at 1068. James Madison (918) edged out Georgia (919) with a final-round 293 to take the title in a tourney played at the Cardinal Club Golf Course, outside of Louisville.

APSU shot a final-day 352 to end at 1068. James Madison (918) edged out Georgia (919) with a final-round 293 to take the title in a tourney played at the Cardinal Club Golf Course, outside of Louisville.

For a second straight tourney, junior Erin Wise led the Lady Govs, this time shooting a 253 (82-88-83), tying her for 44th place. Teammate Cristine Idoux, after a 90 the first-round, completed her comeback (84 in the second round) with an 82 Tuesday for a 256 total, good for 49th place.

Meanwhile, Pier-Anne LaChance shot a 270 (85-92-93) for 58th place with Amanda Rose coming in at 289 (97-98-94) for 62nd. Candice Haefele, filling in for Cristina Lignarolo (illness), shot 336 (126-105-105) for 66th place.

The Lady Govs will be off until Oct. 4-5 when they travel to Jacksonville, Ala., to play in the Lady Gamecock Classic.
