Jazz Combo in concert Nov. 25

The Austin Peay State University Department of Music and the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts are pleased to present a concert by the APSU Jazz Combo.

The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 25 in the Music/Mass Communication Building Concert Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 25 in the Music/Mass Communication Building Concert Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

The Jazz Combo's focus is to work on jazz improvisation in a small group setting. Members of this year's group are Casey Brock, playing the trumpet, Nigel Brown on the saxophone, Mario Kee on the euphonium, Marlon Merritt and Zach Pentecost on guitar, Shawn O'Malley playing bass, Matt DeVore on the drums and David Steinquest on the vibraphone.

The concert includes new arrangements of Herbie Hancock's “Cantaloupe Island,” Joe Locke's “Truth Be Told,” Vince Guaraldi's “Frieda,” Pat Metheny's “Is This America?” Antonio Carlos Jobim's “Fotografia” and “Lone Warrior” by Delfeayo Marsalis.

David Steinquest, professor of music will direct the performance.
