Jazz Collegians to perform in concert

The Austin Peay State University Department of Music will present the Jazz Collegians, featuring big band music under the direction of Professor of Music Richard Steffen.

The concert will start at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 13 in the Music/Mass Communication Concert Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

Steffen teaches both Jazz Harmony and Brass Methods at APSU, and he also directs Jazz Ensemble. Prior to becoming a member of the faculty, Steffen was principal trumpet with the Greenville Symphony and first trumpet with the Foothills Brass Quartet in Greenville, S.C.

Also, he has performed with such legendary entertainers as Tony Bennett, Bob Hope, Johnny Mathis and The Temptations.
