Austin Peay State University faculty, staff, students and alumni have planned an exciting Homecoming 2006, built around the theme, Celebrating Music in America.

Friday, Oct. 27
One Night Stand Dance Marathon
7 p.m. – 3 a.m., Memorial Health Gymnasium (Red Barn)
Austin Peays annual student-run fundraising event to benefit the Monroe Carell Jr. Childrens Hospital at Vanderbilt. Games, free food, music, comedy and prizes for participants. Contact Student Life and Leadership, (931) 221-7431.

Govs Best Banner Contest
Students, organizations, faculty and staff decorate Homecoming-themed banners to be displayed in designated areas during Homecoming week and at the pregame tailgate party. Contact Student Life and Leadership, (931) 221-7431.

Canned Castle Creations for Homecoming
Student organizations and departments will build structures with nonperishable food items in designated campus locations. After Homecoming, food items will be donated to the local food bank. Sponsored by Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Contact Student Life and Leadership, (931) 221-7431.

Monday, Oct. 30
Govs ‘Make Your Own CD'
10 a.m. — 2 p.m., Morgan University Center Lobby
APSU students can sing along with their favorite songs and take a CD home to keep.

Govs Costume Contest

Govs Field Folly and Homecoming Court Announcement Celebration
7-10 p.m., Intramural Field

In true Roman fashion, students and student organizations race homemade chariots.

Govs Funny T-shirts
