High school seniors, parents have choice of 2 APSU preview days

Theres no better way to get a feel for a university than by visiting campus, and Austin Peay State University has scheduled two days for high school seniors and their parents to experience college life at APSU.

Fall 2008 AP Day is Oct. 20 and Nov. 3, both on a Saturday. Prospective students may register to attend either day. Faculty and staff are encouraged to share this information with prospective students.

Check-in for both days is 11 a.m. in the Morgan University Center.

Fall 2008 AP Day is Oct. 20 and Nov. 3, both on a Saturday. Prospective students may register to attend either day. Faculty and staff are encouraged to share this information with prospective students.

Check-in for both days is 11 a.m. in the Morgan University Center.

From 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., students will tour APSU's academic buildings and residence halls, check out the bookstore and enjoy lunch in the cafeteria. Students and their parents will receive tickets to dine in the cafeteria, located on the main floor of Morgan University Center.

Following lunch, from 1-4 p.m., students and their parents will attend sessions about financial aid and scholarships as well as housing and campus life. An hourlong campus tour also is planned.

In addition, two separate sessions will take place. In one session, students will be able to talk with Student Government Association President Bryan D. Huffman and other students. Parents will have a chance to hear from APSU President Tim Hall, Chief of Police Lantz Biles and other campus leaders.

AP Day activities end at 4 p.m., but students and their parents are invited to stay on campus to talk more with staff and tour campus. -- Melony A. Jones
