Hardy receives All-South recognition from baseball coaches

Austin Peay's Rowdy Hardy picked up another honor, adding to his list of 2004 accomplishments. The sophomore pitcher was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association All-South Region second team.

This season, Hardy compiled a 12-3 overall mark in 18 appearances while posting a 2.90 ERA in 118.0 innings pitched. He posted school records in victories (12), innings pitched (118.0) and strikeouts (89) while recording top-10 single-season performances in ERA (2.90, 10th) and games started (15, tied-10th). In regular-season conference contests, Hardy compiled a 7-0 mark, hurling four complete games and posting a 2.30 ERA while limiting opponents to a .228 batting average. He was named the Ohio Valley Conference's Rookie of the Year.

Earlier this month, Hardy was one of only two OVC student-athletes named to the Louisville Slugger NCAA Division I All-American baseball teams, receiving third-team recognition.

The ABCA South region consists of 34 schools and is one of eight regions that make up the ABCA All-America selection process.
