Guitar Ensemble to perform Dec. 6

The Austin Peay State University Department of Music and the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts will host a concert featuring the APSU Guitar Ensemble.

Under the direction of Dr. Stanley Yates, professor of music and director of guitar studies at APSU, the concert will start at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 6 in the Music/Mass Communication Building Concert Hall. The performance is free and open to the public.

The Guitar Ensemble consists of 10 undergraduate students and four graduate students. The ensemble will be performing works such as “Landscape” by Leo Brouwer, “Chasing Dragons” by Darin Au, “Baiao de Gude” by Paulo Bellinati and Stepan Rak's piece “Rumba.”

Rak also will be performing with the Guitar Ensemble in “Trois Mouvements Dynamiques” by Olivier Bensa.
