Govs' Young, Proctor named Sports Network Preseason All-Americans

Senior offensive lineman Wes Proctor and junior defensive end Steven Young have been named preseason Mid-Major All-Americans by the Sports Network.

Proctor, an offensive line regular since his freshman season, will open 2005 as the Govs most experienced lineman. The Ashland City native is expected to start the season as center. The former prep wrestling standout has started at tackle and guard in previous seasons.

Meanwhile, Young moved into the lineup a year ago as a starter and flourished after serving as a key reserve in 2003. In earning All-Pioneer Football League South honors, he finished with 51 tackles (sixth best on the team) while tying for the team lead with four sacks. He and fellow defensive end Jordan Richardson were CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District selections.
