Fort Campbell hosts AP Day Sept. 16

The solution might be found in the multiple class offerings and degree programs, short terms and convenient class times, including night classes, offered through the Austin Peay's Center at Fort Campbell.

For an overview of what's offered or for detailed information, prospective students can drop by AP Day at Fort Campbell from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 16, at the Army Education Center, 202 Bastogne Ave.

According to Gerald Beavers, executive director of the APSU Center at Fort Campbell, classrooms are full from early morning until 10 p.m. at night, Monday- Thursday.

“In our global economy, a college education is a must,” Beavers says. “We have been expanding our programs and course offerings at the APSU Center at Fort Campbell to meet those challenges and higher education needs of our students.”

Students enrolling at Fort Campbell include active-duty soldiers, military dependents, military retirees and civilians.

“The college fair on Sept. 16 is designed for anyone interested in attending classes at the APSU Center @ Fort Campbell,” says Janet Velazquez, APSU admissions counselor.

Faculty will be on hand to offer academic advisement or answer questions about the various programs and what careers the graduates of each often enter. Staff will provide information on such topics as admissions, veteran's affairs, financial aid and the library.

In addition to gathering information, prospects can check out the interesting exhibits featuring robots, engines, crime scene searches, culinary arts and more.

Registration for Fall II Term at the APSU Center@ Fort Campbell is Oct. 4-8.
