Fort Campbell Center to add a 5th term

To accommodate soldiers schedules better, Austin Peay State University will add a fifth term to its satellite campus at Fort Campbell, Ky., beginning Fall I 2008.

We are trying to enhance the course offerings for our soldiers and provide a better opportunity for them to work on their degrees, said Dr. Bill Cox, executive director of the APSU Center @ Fort Campbell. We think a fifth term will help with that.
To accommodate soldiers' schedules better, Austin Peay State University will add a fifth term to its satellite campus at Fort Campbell, Ky., beginning Fall I 2008.

“We are trying to enhance the course offerings for our soldiers and provide a better opportunity for them to work on their degrees,” said Dr. Bill Cox, executive director of the APSU Center @ Fort Campbell. “We think a fifth term will help with that.”

Cox likened the fifth term to a “true summer term” because the Fort Campbell Center currently does not have a summer semester. Until now, the Center's Spring II term extended into early summer around June, and the Fall I term immediately followed.

For the Spring II 2008 term, soldiers will be permitted to preregister eight weeks prior to the first day of classes. Civilians will be allowed to preregister three weeks prior to the first day of classes.

“In the past, there was no preregistration for non-military,” Cox said. “This is another good change being made at the Fort Campbell Center.”

Advising and preregistration for civilians Spring II begins March 31. Deadline to submit admission applications for the Fort Campbell campus is April 4.

On-site registration week is April 14-18. Military personnel using GoArmyEd funding may register for classes from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., April 14 and 15.

Soldiers not using GoArmyEd may register from 8 a.m.-6 p.m., April 16.
Civilians, family members and veterans only may register from 8 a.m.-6 p.m., April 17.

Open registration for all students is from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., April 18.

Late registration for all students is from 8 a.m.-6 p.m., April 21 and from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., April 22.
