Extended Ed hosts Tennessee Business Tax Seminar July 20

Austin Peays Center for Extended and Distance Education will host a seminar on Tennessee business taxes from 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday, July 20.

The seminar will be held in the Morgan University Center. Representatives from the Tennessee Department of Revenue, the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service will facilitate sessions related to business taxes. In addition, a representative will speak on county/city business tax.

The seminar will be held in the Morgan University Center. Representatives from the Tennessee Department of Revenue, the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service will facilitate sessions related to business taxes. In addition, a representative will speak on county/city business tax.

This seminar is designed to assist those who work with business-related taxes. During the session, attendees will have the opportunity to learn from these government agency representatives, ask questions and receive materials explaining tax responsibilities and providing contact information.

Seminar topics include sales and use tax, streamlined sales tax, individual income tax, unemployment tax, business tax, tangible personal property tax, franchise and excise taxes, taxpayer education and communication from the Internal Revenue Service, legislative amendments to tax law and recent court cases that affect tax administration.

Continuing education credit hours can be earned by attending this seminar. The registration fee is $155. Seating is limited. Registrations must be received before July 15.
