Extended ed hosts Business Tax Seminar July 13

The Center for Extended and Distance Education at APSU will host a seminar and workshop on Tennessee business taxes.

The event takes place from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Wednesday, July 13, in the Morgan University Center, APSU.

Representatives from the Tennessee Department of Revenue, Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Treasury Department and Comptroller of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service will facilitate sessions. A representative also will speak on local business taxes.

During the session, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive materials explaining tax responsibilities and providing contact information.

Topics will include:

•Legislative amendments to tax law
•Sales and use tax
•Streamlined sales tax
•Franchise and excise taxes
•Individual income, unemployment and business taxes
•Unclaimed property
•Tangible personal property tax
Continuing education credit hours can be earned by attending this seminar. Registration is $165. The deadline to register is Wednesday, July 6.
