Enjoy the Guitar Ensemble in concert Nov. 22

APSUs Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts and the department of music present a concert by the Guitar Ensemble.

Under the direction of Dr. Stanley Yates, professor of music, the performance will begin at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 22 in the concert hall, music/mass communication building and will focus primarily on Spanish music.

Under the direction of Dr. Stanley Yates, professor of music, the performance will begin at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 22 in the concert hall, music/mass communication building and will focus primarily on Spanish music.

Yates said, “The program includes a suite of pieces taken from the Bizet opera ‘Carmen,' four Gypsy Dances by Spanish composer Joaquin Turina and an arrangement of Spanish dances and folk songs by Jeronimo Gimenez. The concert also will feature tango music by Olivier Bensa, as well as a renaissance dance suite by Tielman Susato and a modern work by Bulgarian-French composer, Atanas Ourkouzounov.”
