Bettye Holte, associate professor of art and director of APSU galleries, says, “The art show is a juried show, which means students pay a nonrefundable entry fee to enter their art piece, and an outside juror selects which works will actually get into the exhibition.”

The nonrefundable entry fees are $5 for the first piece and $2.50 for each additional piece. There is a limit of three pieces per artist.

“All work entered must be an original by the student and labeled with identification on the back/bottom with the student's name, title, date of work and medium. The show is open to all media, but work must be dry and ready to hang or ready to place on a pedestal,” says Holte.
Students must list the insurance value on the entry form, but listing a sales price is at the student's discretion.

A list of works accepted into the show will be posted April 3 or 4 outside the Trahern Gallery. If work is not accepted for exhibition, students are encouraged to retrieve their work by April 5. Unclaimed work will not be stored by the gallery or art department.

The 38th Annual Student Art Show is sponsored by the APSU Department of Art, Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts and the Student Art League.

The opening reception, free and open to the public, will be 7-9 p.m., Monday, April 10. The exhibition will run through Sunday, April 30.
