We're talking about Governor's Schools, the state's nine summer programs for gifted and talented high school students, which are all hosted at public universities. Until now, Austin Peay has been one of only two state schools left out of the Governor's School pool. However, that status may not last much longer.

Dr. Sherry Hoppe has been invited by Commissioner of Education Lana Seivers to submit a proposal for a Governor's School in Leadership, Ethics and Public Policy for the 2005 cycle.
