Murray State University has been awarded a grant to undertake an English language teacher training initiative with the University of Bahrain from the U.S. Department of State's Middle East Partnership Initiative in cooperation with the Association Liaison Office for University Cooperation in Development and the U.S. Agency for International Development. Former Vice President Al Gore, state Supreme Court Justice Riley Anderson and Lady Vols basketball coach Pat Summit have declined to be considered for the presidency of the University of Tennessee. At last count, 80 people had been nominated by the public to the presidential search office. The UT search advisory council has until April 5 to narrow the search to six to 10 candidates.
