Ceremony to unveil new fitness, recreation center

Austin Peay State University will dedicate its new state-of-the-art University Fitness and Recreation Center during a ceremony at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 30. The public is invited to attend the event.

The new $11 million fitness and recreation center is located on Marion Street. It features a rock-climbing wall, three multipurpose courts for basketball and racquetball with an elevated walking track above each, two multiuse fitness rooms, indoor cycling studio, 10,000 square feet of fitness space, wellness classrooms and a food service area.

Future plans call for a near Olympic-size swimming pool to be built next to the center.
