Candlelight Ball raises $21,000

March 18, 2003

More than 200 people attended the 19th annual Candlelight Ball, held Saturday at Hilton Suites in Nashville, raising $21,000 for scholarships.

"Nineteen years of Candlelight Balls have raised $376,000," says Martha Hopson, who along with Debbie Bradley co-chaired the event.

Bartenders wearing floral leis, Polynesian dancers and food with an island flavor set a tropical mood for the evening. The Craig Duncan orchestra provided music.

The first Candlelight Ball was held in 1984, at Phila Hach's Hachland Hill Inn on Madison Street.
