Byrd appointed NASPA liaison

Dr. Sherryl Byrd, associate vice president for student affairs and senior student affairs officer at Austin Peay State University, has been appointed to a leadership position with the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA).

Byrd will serve a two-year term on the Region III Advisory Board as liaison to the Southern Association for College Student Affairs (SACSA) Executive Committee.
Dr. Sherryl Byrd, associate vice president for student affairs and senior student affairs officer at Austin Peay State University, has been appointed to a leadership position with the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA).

Byrd will serve a two-year term on the Region III Advisory Board as liaison to the Southern Association for College Student Affairs (SACSA) Executive Committee.

With more than 25 years of student affairs experience in higher education, Byrd has been a member of NASPA since 1986 and presented programs at both state and national conferences. Her previous NASPA leadership experience includes serving as state president, state treasurer, summer symposium chair, state newsletter editor and state research chair.

Byrd has an Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration from the University of Alabama.

With more than 11,000 members at 1,400 institutions and representing 29 countries, NASPA is the largest professional association for student affairs administrators, faculty and graduate students. NASPA is divided into seven regional communities with Region III composed of 11 southeastern states.
