Members of the local Title VI Action Committee said they had established a good working relationship with APSUs purchasing department in an article in The Leaf-Chronicle July 21. Mitch Robinson, vice president for finance and administration, has been meeting with the group, as well as members of the Clarksville Regional Business Center, to further inform minorities about contract bidding opportunities. In addition, the University co-organizes a communitywide “Basics of Doing Business with Local Government Agencies” conference each fall.

APSU's Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts has received a $10,000 Learning in the Arts grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. The grant will support the Center's Listen Up program, which will provide after-school workshops for teens.
