The Universitys Winter Commencement will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, Dec. 12, in the Dunn Center. The keynote speaker will be Austin Peay alum Larry Gates, who helped develop the bullet-resistant vest used by police officers worldwide during his tenure at DuPont Company and now serves as vice president for investments for Heidtke and Co., Inc., Nashville.

During the week of Dec. 15, faculty and staff may wear APSU logo shirts Monday through Friday and jeans Friday only.

Mark your calendar for the 20th annual Candlelight Ball to benefit Austin Peay State University. The ball will be held at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, March 13, 2004, at Hilton Suites, Nashville. Tickets are $150 per person or $300 per couple. Formal invitations will be mailed after Jan. 1, according to Shelia Boone, director of alumni and annual giving. For more information, telephone 7127.
