The department of language and literatures 10th Annual Bread and Words benefit for Loaves and Fishes raised a record $925 this year.

The Kappa Eta Chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society, has donated $300 worth of toys to Toys for Tots, according to Dr. David Kanervo, chair of political science. The money was raised through bake sales on campus.

APSU's women's soccer team has earned recognition from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for its work in the classroom. The Lady Govs were one of 290 women's soccer programs at all levels nationwide to receive the NSCAA/Adidas Team Academic Award. Austin Peay posted a 3.14 GPA during the 2003-04 academic year.

If you have mail that needs to go out before the holiday break, drop it off by 1:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 17, at the APSU Post Office. No off-campus mail will be accepted after 2 p.m. The office will be open from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 28, for departmental mail pick-up. Anyone who is picking up mail that day can use the Post Office loading dock doors, located behind the UC off Govs Lane. The office will resume regular hours on Monday, Jan. 3.
