The 12th Annual “Bread and Words” benefit reading will begin at 6 tonight in the Morgan University Center Ballroom. The department asks for a $5 donation to go to Loaves and Fishes soup kitchen and food pantry of Clarksville.

“Bread and Words” has been held each year to help feed the hungry in the community. Members of the department and friends prepare pots of soup and loaves of bread and bring them to the ballroom. A simple meal of soup and bread is served, followed by the benefit reading beginning at 7 p.m.

Individuals in the creative writing program who will be reading are Barry Kitterman, professor of languages and literature, graduate students Kory Shrum and Mary Francies and sophomore Tyler Moore. Music will be provided by Chuck Emery, guitar, and Jeremy Crouse, harmonica.
