“The festival has been held at APSU for many years,” said Andrea Brown, competition coordinator and director of athletic bands at APSU. “It's a great opportunity to watch many of the region's finest high school marching bands perform and compete.

“The event will bring hundreds of student musicians to the campus along with their families, friends and band directors.”

The schedule includes the following high schools: Wilson Central, Adamsville, Northwest, Station Camp, Henry County, Humboldt, LaVergne, Beech, Hendersonville, Marion (Arkansas), Smyrna, Columbia Central, John Overton, Riverdale and Houston.

Brown said the event “has the potential to be an incredible recruiting opportunity for the band, music department and the University.”

“We hope to have about 4,000 people in and around Governors Stadium,” she said. “This event brings students and parents to our campus that might not otherwise think of visiting APSU. The Governors Own Marching Band will be performing two different shows for our guests. The members are really looking forward to showing off.”

The cost of admission is $8 for the preliminary or finals competition. Admission is $12 for the entire day. Admission for APSU students and faculty is $5 with ID. Children 10 and younger will be admitted free.
