“Figure 8: An Exhibition of Contemporary Figure Drawing,” will be displayed in the Trahern Gallery beginning Monday, Oct. 1 and continues through Sunday, Oct. 21. The exhibition is free and open to the public.

Curated by Professor of Art Kell Black, “Figure 8” will include figure drawings by eight artists from all over the country.

“The human figure appears in art more often than any other motif, and it has been one of the favorite subjects of artists since the dawn of civilization. This is true even in our current century,” Black said. “The upcoming exhibition offers both the community and our students a glimpse into eight ways the figure is being used today, both as content and context.”
