APSU's Symphony Orchestra, University Choir present holiday concert

Austin Peay State Universitys department of music and the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts present a concert by the Symphony Orchestra and University Choir.

The holiday concert will begin at 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 11 in the concert hall of the music/mass communication building.

The concert will be conducted by Dr. Gregory Wolynec, professor of music, and Dr. Karen Kenaston-French, professor of music. Special guest Dr. Jeffrey Wood, professor of music, will be featured on piano.

The 50-piece orchestra and 75-member choir will perform Johann Strauss' “Overture to Die Fledermaus,” “Gloria” by Francis Poulenc and Beethoven's “Choral Fantasy.”

Student soloists Debra Lee Reardon, Samantha Walters, Maggie Brewer, Meaghan Estes, John Thomas Cecil, Henry McGuire and Jonah Chambers also will perform.

The concert is free and open to the public.
