APSU Wind Ensemble performs Oct. 14

The Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts is presenting a concert by the APSU Wind Ensemble at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 14, in the music/mass communication building concert theatre.
The Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts is presenting a concert by the APSU Wind Ensemble at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 14, in the music/mass communication building concert theatre.

The ensemble, conducted by Dr. Gregory Wolynec, director of bands and assistant professor of music, will perform a concert of works by Ernst Krenek, Morten Lauridsen and Sergey Prokofiev, in addition to Francis Poulenc's rarely heard “Aubade for Piano and 18 Instruments” (featuring soloist Dr. Jeffrey Wood, professor of music), as well as Percy Grainger's landmark composition, “Lincolnshire Posy.”

The concert also will feature guest conductors Edward Dixon and Dr. George Mabry, professor emeritus of music.

Admission is free and open to the public.
