The APSU Symphony Orchestra and guest violinist John Haspel Gilbert will perform Brahms' famous “Violin Concerto in D Major” and Beethoven's “Symphony No. 5” during a concert at 7:30 p.m., Monday, in the music/mass communication building concert theatre.

Gilbert, a Texas Tech University professor of violin, performs regularly throughout the United States as a soloist, recitalist and chamber music collaborator. Praised by legendary performer Josef Gingold as a “superb violinist,” he possesses what performer Glenn Dicterow refers to as “a very high level of artistry.”

The concert, which will be conducted by APSU Assistant Music Professor Douglas Droste, is free and open to the public. For further information, telephone 6262.
