APSU presents Nov. 17 concert by the Jazz Combo and Jazz Collegians

Austin Peay State Universitys department of music, in conjunction with the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts, presents a concert by the Jazz Combo and Jazz Collegians.

Conducted by Dr. David Steinquest and Dr. Richard Steffen, both professors of music, the concert will be held at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 17 in the concert hall, music/mass communication building.

Conducted by Dr. David Steinquest and Dr. Richard Steffen, both professors of music, the concert will be held at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 17 in the concert hall, music/mass communication building.

Horace Silver's “Nica's Dream” and “Silver's Serenade” will be featured along with “Sco's Bossa” by John Scofield and “Can't Dance” by Joshua Redman. The concert also will include Thad Jones' “A Child is Born” and Cedar Walton's “Cedar's Blues.”

Special guests include Steffen on trumpet and Ron Jones, alto saxophonist from Louisville, Ky.

The concert is free and open to the public.
