“We are set up as a big band, but we don't play the traditional big band music. We play more modern pieces,” says event coordinator Richard Steffen, professor of music.

Steffen also says that while the musical selections do not reflect a theme, they do highlight the talents of the performers.

The show will feature two of Louise Mandrell's band members, a member of the U.S. Navy Band, freelance musicians, music professors and retired band directors, Steffen says.

The concert is free and open to the public.
