Tenure has been awarded to Elaine Berg, assistant professor of library administration; Dr. Moniqueka Gold, associate professor of education; Dr. Samuel Jator, associate professor of mathematics; John Moseley, assistant professor of mass communication; Dr. Frank Parcells, professor of mass communication; Dr. Omie Shepherd, associate professor of health and human performance; Dr. John Volker, associate professor of management; and David Wesner, assistant professor of communication and theatre.

Promotions have been earned by Dr. Linda Barnes, professor of English; Dr. Carol Baskauf, professor of biology; Dr. Phyllis Camilleri, professor of geology; Dr. Daniel Frederick, professor of geology; Gold; Dr. Robert Halliman, associate professor of management technology; Dr. Joyce Hargrove, associate professor of social work; Dr. Allen Henderson, professor of music; Sean Hogan, assistant professor of library administration; Dr. Ted Jones, professor of mass communication; Dr. David Menser, professor of mathematics; Dr. Mark Michael, professor of philosophy; Shepherd; Volker; Dr. Pei Xiong-Skiba, professor of physics and astronomy; and Dr. Gregory Zieren, professor of history.
