Austin Peay's music department and Women's Studies Program present the annual Women Composers Concert.
“A Woman's Eye: Themes and Images by Women Composers” will begin at 7:30 p.m., Monday, March 8, in APSU's music/mass communication building concert hall.
Featuring vocal and instrumental music by woman composers of the 20th and 21st centuries, the concert will include pieces by past masters Lili Boulanger and Miriam Gideon and more recent works by Nancy Van de Vate, Alice Barnett and Libby Larsen. New works by APSU student composers Sharon Nelson and Hollie Orr also will be performed.
Desiree Dolan, Debra Lee Reardon and Marion Wood will join Orr as student performers. Faculty performers include Maya Stone, bassoon; Valerie Oyen-Larsen, mezzo-soprano; Ann Glass, piano; and Dr. Jeffrey Wood, piano.
