APSU, local chamber to sponsor business communication seminar

Area businesses will have an opportunity to learn more about business communication and the technology needed for success at the Middle Tennessee Business Communication and Technology Seminar hosted by the Austin Peay State University Center for Extended and Distance Education and the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce.

The event is 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Tuesday, March 7 in Morgan University Center on campus. Area businesses will have an opportunity to learn more about business communication and the technology needed for success at the Middle Tennessee Business Communication and Technology Seminar hosted by the Austin Peay State University Center for Extended and Distance Education and the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce.

The event is 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Tuesday, March 7 in Morgan University Center on campus.
Designed to help business owners, managers and information technology professionals explore both traditional communication skills and cutting-edge communication technology, the seminar will include workshops, expert guest speakers and a product expo to highlight the latest tools for superior business communication.

Expo vendors, including Dell Computers, Verizon Wireless, Office Depot and 5 Star Radio, will offer seminar participants a chance to see the latest innovations in business communication technology and get answers about using telecommunication, marketing, e-commerce, advertising and networking to enhance profits and productivity.

The program will include workshops on other topics: leading by listening, managing the media, interactive television and teleconferencing, motivating and influencing your market and effective Web marketing.

Dr. Mike Gotcher, APSU corporate communication professor, will deliver the keynote address at the seminar, sharing his years of experience in leadership and communication skills, motivation techniques and mass media messages.

Conference fees, which include all materials and lunch, are $160 for general admission and $147 for Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce members.
