APSU hosts TTUA on March 8

On Thursday, March 8, Austin Peay State University will host the quarterly meeting of the Tennessee Telecommunications Users Association (TTUA).

The TTUA membership is composed of telephone administrators for various universities, businesses and government agencies throughout the state. Although the meeting is keyed to them, Jim Spriggle, telecommunications manager for APSU, said anyone interested may attend.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Morgan University Center, with a business meeting scheduled to start at 9 a.m.

At 10:30 a.m., there will be a double presentation. Deputy Chief Ed Patterson of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department will discuss the department's relationship with Nextel. Steve Jones, director of the Montgomery County Emergency Management Agency, will talk about preparations for the possibility of Wolf Creek Dam breaking.

At 1:15 p.m., Andy Trotter and John Buchannan will present a talk, titled “The New AT&T.” After roundtable discussions, the meeting will end with closing remarks at 3 p.m.
