APSU to host orchestra concert, directed by Alvaro Gomez

The Austin Peay State University Department of Music will present a concert conducted by Alvaro Gomez, assistant professor of music.

The concert will start at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 2 in the Music/Mass Communication Building Concert Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

Gomez is director of orchestral activities at APSU and is a string specialist in violin and viola. Prior to teaching at APSU, Gomez performed as a soloist with orchestras, chamber music and master classes throughout the world including Europe, Japan, Israel and Singapore.

He continues to perform at festivals such as the Schlern International Festival in Italy, as well as the Symphonic Workshop in the Czech Republic.
