APSU to have established new academic colleges, departments by Fall 2009

By Fall 2009, Austin Peay State University will have established three new colleges, the result of a reorganization plan designed to enhance academic leadership.

At APSU, the School of Business will become the College of Business; the School of Education will transition into the College of Education; and the College of Behavioral and Health Sciences will be developed.

In addition, there will be three freestanding academic departmental units: department of sociology, department of agriculture and department of geosciences.

APSU Provost Dr. Tristan Denley said the reorganization of the University's academic layout would help to improve the layers of administration inherent in the postsecondary setting.

“These changes will help us to put leadership into place to guide these academic units into the future,” he said.
