APSU faculty, staff achieve goals through pursuits

Dr. Ted Jones, professor of mass communication, and Dr. Thomas King, Music, are sharing the role of Old Deuteronomy in “Cats” this week at the Roxy Regional Theatre on First and Franklin streets in Clarksville. Performances continue through May 2. Visit Roxy's Web site for more details.

Dr. Norbert Puszkar, assistant professor of German, published “Hans Scholz's Am grünen Strand der Spree: Witnessing and Representing the Holocaust” in the April issue of Neophilologus.

Dr. Becky Starnes, associate professor of public management and criminal justice, and Dr. Uma Iyer, associate professor of psychology, presented a paper, titled “Psychological Contract Perceptions and Volunteer Contributions: Analysis of Generational Differences,” at the 24th Annual Conference of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology held April 4.

Melony Shemberger, communication specialist in public relations and marketing, competed in the Kentucky Derby Festival Half-Marathon on April 25 in Louisville. Her chip time was 2:17:09. There were 9,412 finishers in the 13.1-mile race. Of that number, 5,260 runners were female, with 773 in the 35-39 female age division. Her overall finishing rank was 3,947, placing 1,510 in overall female and 233 in the 35-39 age group. She will compete in the Clarksville Multisport Duathlon (2-mile run, 13.1-mile bike, 2-mile run) on May 2 at Beachaven Winery.
