APSU faculty member to perform clarinet recital

The Austin Peay State University Department of Music and the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts will present a faculty recital with Mingzhe Wang, assistant professor of music at APSU.

The recital will start at 7:30 p.m., Friday, March 20 in the Music/Mass Communication Building Concert Hall. The recital is free and open to the public.

Wang, who has been playing clarinet since he was 9, will be performing with pianist Ilya Poletaev and Lisa Vanarsdel, professor of flute, in a short duet.

Wang, a native of Wuhan, China, has studied at the Wuhan Conservatory and the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. He is currently completing his Doctor in Musical Arts degree at Yale University.

Wang has played with The American Classical Orchestra and the Clarion Music Society Orchestra.

Wang has been a member of the APSU faculty since Fall 2007.
