Community Service Programs

“Parents, Children and DivorceMontgomery County” is the state-mandated course divorcing parents with minor children are required to take before the divorce is granted. The father and mother do not attend class at the same time, and children are not permitted to attend. Classes will be held from 5:45-9:45 p.m., Thursday, April 24 in Clement, room 132 on the APSU campus. The course and textbook fee is $30.

“Motorcycle: Basic Rider Course” provides basic mental and motor skills for new riders. The course meets from 6-10 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m.- 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, April 25-27, at the APSU Armory Building, room 110. The course fee is $170 including textbook and insurance. Microsoft Office Specialist Prep

“MOS Intermediate MS PowerPoint 2000” teaches students to turn their drab facts and figures into overhead transparencies, 35 mm slides and electronic slide presentations. Students will learn to improve their presentations with multimedia slides, charts, outlines, graphs, clip art and hypertext links. Classes run 6-9 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, April 17-May 1, at 106 Public Square, Clarksville. The course fee is $152, the lab fee is $5 and the textbook costs $42.

Computer Software Users' Training

“IC3Internet & Computer Competency Certification with Test” offers students the preparation they need to take the new IC3 certification exam to show they have the accepted level of basic computer and Internet literacy. Classes run from 4:30-6:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, April 22-May 5, at 106 Public Square, Clarksville. The course fee is $162, the lab fee is $5 and the text costs $39.

Languages, Leisure Learning and Personal Development Classes

“English as a Second Language” is a beginners' course that introduces the basics of conversational English, emphasizing sounds, useful vocabulary and practical dialog. Classes meet 6-8 p.m., Monday, April 28-June 9, at 106 Public Square, Clarksville. The course fee is $68 and the textbook costs $25.

“Financial Seminar for Women” explores the world of financial security from a woman's perspective. Students are taught how to take charge of their financial security, establish credit, get loans, manage their 401k and IRA, plan for their future and protect their assets. Classes meet from 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, April 30-May 21, at 106 Public Square, Clarksville. The course fee is $15.

“Graphic Design Certificate Program” is a 12-18 month program that teaches students important design techniques, composition, typography, visual thinking and concept development. Courses may be started on any date between Jan. 15 and July 31. The course fee is $2,255.

“Digital Design Certificate Program” is a 6-18 month program focusing on digital media that teaches important design techniques, visual thinking, concept development, composition and typography. Courses may be started on any date between Jan. 15 and July 31. The course fee is $2,255.

“Multimedia Certificate Program” is a 12-18 month program that teaches the latest trends in multimedia design on the Web, in CD-ROMs or using Director, Flash or HTML. Courses may be started on any date between Jan. 15 and July 31. The course fee is $2,255.
