Whether you are new to campus or a seasoned employee, you will want to check out APSU's New Employee Video Orientation, which is located on human resources' “Orientation Program for New Employees” page and provides new (or prospective) employees with an introduction to Austin Peay State University.

When President Sherry Hoppe decided to act on employee Mary Moseley's suggestion to develop a welcome video for new employees, she didn't have to look far for resources to complete the project. The orientation was written and produced in-house, utilizing the talents of a number of employees from different departments. Committee chair Julia McGee (Extended Education) and committee members Carol Clark (President's Office), Kathy Lee (Communication and Theatre), Mary Moseley (Housing and Residence Life), Michael Powell (Library) and Kathy Stamper (formerly of Human Resources) developed the concept and wrote the script for the production. Dr. Ann Silverberg (Music) provided the committee with special assistance in music selection.

The orientation features APSU employees Bert Brisson (Academic Affairs), Leni Dyer (Communication and Theatre), Dr. Joe Filippo (post-retirement faculty — Communication and Theatre), Joe Mills (Housing and Residence Life), Michael Powell and Elizabeth Wyatt (Library) in video segments, along with still photography by Bill Persinger (Public Relations and Marketing), Steve Wilson (Public Relations and Marketing), Lee, Powell and Owen Heuston, Kathy Lee's husband.

Dr. Frank Parcells (Communication and Theatre) narrates the video, and Dr. Stanley Yates' (Music) original guitar composition provides background music.
Clean Cut Productions student Robb Fladry shot the video segments and edited the production under the guidance of Lee, the executive producer.

Because many prospective employees may be viewing the orientation from their homes, Wilson created several viewing options on the Web site to accommodate Internet connections of various speeds.
