APSU, Clarksville chamber sponsor seminar for office professionals

In recognition of Administrative Professionals Day, the Center for Extended and Distance Education at Austin Peay State University and the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor an all-day seminar designed for office professionals and administrative assistants.

The seminar is 9 a.m.-4 p.m., April 26 at the Chamber of Commerce office on Madison Street. In recognition of Administrative Professionals' Day, the Center for Extended and Distance Education at Austin Peay State University and the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor an all-day seminar designed for office professionals and administrative assistants.

The seminar is 9 a.m.-4 p.m., April 26 at the Chamber of Commerce office on Madison Street.
Workshops will include the following: Winning Respect and Credibility; Interpersonal Communication; Professional Image; Juggling Multiple Tasks With Ease; Dealing With Chronically Impossible People; and Time Management Solutions That Work.

Dr. Linda Rudolph — a noted trainer, APSU alumna and former APSU professor — will be among the guest speakers to present the workshops.

Melinda Samuels, former president and adviser of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP), will be the luncheon keynote speaker. Parks Belk department store will present a Business Fashion Review. Connie Monroe will lead an afternoon session called Stress Management Techniques.

Representatives with the IAAP, an organization dedicated to the professional and personal development of office employees, will provide attendees an opportunity to become charter members of a Clarksville IAAP chapter.

Continuing education credit hours can be earned by attending this seminar. Registration fee is $160 ($147 for chamber members), which includes all sessions, materials, breaks, fashion show and lunch. Seating is limited. Reservations are required by Friday, April 21.
