What is the difference between terms for the Clarksville campus of Austin Peay State University and the Austin Peay Center at Fort Campbell?
CLARKSVILLE CAMPUS (Main Campus): The Clarksville campus is on traditional academic semesters, each lasting approximately 16 weeks, with several summer sessions. The two traditional academic semesters are Fall (from August to December), and Spring (from January to May). Students generally attend classrooms for 2.5 hours per week. Summer terms are Summer I, often a four-week term in June-July, Summer II, a four-week term in July-August, and a Full Summer eight-week term from June-August. There are some courses in the evenings, but not all.
FORT CAMPBELL CAMPUS: The Austin Peay Center at Fort Campbell, and all colleges and universities at the Army Education Center, are on four eight-week terms per year. The credit hours earned are semester hours as on the Clarksville campus, but are earned twice as quickly. The terms are Fall I (July-September), Fall II (October-December), Spring I (January-March), and Spring II (April-June). Classes are on a two-day schedule (Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday), and each class is 2.5 hours per day or 5 hours per week. There are five classroom times: 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.; 11:15 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.; 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.; 4:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
TUITION AND FEES: Active-duty military and military dependents get a tuition reduction for lower division courses (those numbered 1000-2000), but must pay full rates for upper division courses (those numbered 3000-4000). Every student must pay a Technology Access fee of $11.00 per credit hour as of the 2004-2005 catalog. There is also a fee for School of Business upper division courses, and all web-based courses taught online. There are many more fees on the Clarksville campus that are not applicable at Fort Campbell. For current tuition and fees, go to the web site of:

Tuition Assistance (TA) may be used at either campus, as may financial aid or VA benefits. The same admission standards apply to both campuses. All of the general education core courses are available at both campuses. The two-year programs are available only at the Fort Campbell Campus, as are the degrees in Professional Studies and Homeland Security.
