Curriculum Requirements

Program Educational Objectives and Program Outcomes

Degree Requirements (All Concentrations)

1.      B.S. core requirements include MATH 1530 Statistics, PHYS 2010/2011and 2020/2021College Physics with lab. Also includes required courses in communications (writing, public speaking), history, humanities, and social sciences (see APSU bulletin for details).  First time freshmen must also take APSU 1000 (1 credit hour).  Physics will meet core requirements in science.

2.      Two math courses covering algebra, trigonometry and basic calculus:
a.  ENGT 1200 Applied Math in Eng. Tech. or MATH 1730 Pre-calculus
b.  ENGT 1400 Applied Calculus in Eng. Tech OR MATH 1810 Elements of Calculus.

3.   Engineering Technology core:  1000, 1020, 2010, 2020, 2030, 2730, 3000, 3010, 3020, 3030, 3040, and 3050.

General Concentration with Civil Specialization (36 HOURS)

ENGT 3100, 3200, 3220, 3840, 3850, 4500, 4150, 4720; Plus (12) elective hours from the following ENGT 1720, 2500, 3710, 3720, 3790, 4020, 4710

General Concentration with Mechanical Specialization (36 HOURS)

General Concentration with General Specialization (36 HOURS)

           Any ENGT courses, any APSU courses or transfer credit in engineering technology, engineering, computer science, or  another technology related field.  Courses should be in a common area, and are subject to departmental approval. Other courses in Engineering Technology are recommended.  This includes technological AAS degree programs offered by APSU at Fort Campbell and similar programs at community colleges. It also includes all technically oriented military training.
