Description: 
Pushing the Elephant, a film by Beth Davenport and Elizabeth Mandel, follows a year in the life of Rose Mapendo, a Tutsi from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) who survived a death camp and genocide violence to become a voice for reconciliation and peace. The film chronicles the refugee experience and acculturation in the U.S. today and the changing face of immigration.
